EQUINE AVENUE

Professional training for you and your horse ,

Growing up as a part of the New England equestrian experience, gave Aryn Jacques the skills, experience, education and determination to become an effective horsewoman.  Aryn has diverse and extensive equestrian experiences.  She was an active, competitive and successful 4H student, United States Pony Club Rider, fox hunter, three-day eventer, and hunter/jumper rider all before she turned age 18.

Aryn was raised by her mother, Danith Jacques, on their horse farm, Woodlawn Farms in Belchertown.  Having her mother as her personal trainer and instructor had many advantages.  By the tender age of two, Aryn was showing in leadline classes.  By 7, she owned and showed several ponies competing in local and rated competitions in New England and New York.  At age 11, she became a popular catch rider for ponies in pony hunter divisions and on the Welsh Pony circuit in  Massachusetts and Connecticut.  She was a part of the local 4H , as the Vice president of her farms club "The young Equestrian's"and United States Pony Club as well.

In her thirteenth year, entrepreneur Aryn was successfully buying, training, showing and selling welsh ponies and freshly off the track thoroughbreds under her mother's guidance and support, Who was alo the glue that held everything together. By 15, Aryn became a junior instructor and trainer for many of the horses at Woodlawn Farms.  Three years later Aryn became a certified riding instructor in both Ma. & Ct.Most of the Woodlawn lessons, training and barn management tasks were performed by Aryn.  She also spent two weeks a year  exercising race horses at Pimlico Race Track for trainer Richard Small.  Dabbling in three day eventing  assisted her in developing greater scope and stronger dressage skills. At 19 Aryn became a certified judge (not rated) and began judging local schooling and 4-H shows .
Aryn realizes the importance and essentiality of perfecting and diversifying her craft.  Although her mother remained her primary trainer and instructor, Aryn expanded and extended her equestrian experiences by attending riding clinics with some of the hunter/jumper greatest!  Her clinic experiences gave her both constructive criticism and objectives to hone her skills and perfect her overall horsemanship.  Quickly, Aryn was competing and placing among the well
known East Coast riders .

Most recently, Aryn spent her 2006 winter vacation training ponies in Florida .Impressed by Aryn's skills, invited her back to train in February 2007.Aryn can be found working with and learning from Jane Mcloud (http://www.janemcloud.com/ ), loacated at the Paddock Riding club in Glendale Ca.  Aryn has started taking equitation lessons with a new trainer in CA to fine tune her equitation strengths as well as dressage lessons with Kathrine M. (http://www.klmdressage.com/). As she knows the importance of always learning and how great it is to have "eyes on the ground".
Three years ago, Aryn bid farewell to the New England countryside and introduced herself to Southern California.  3000 miles away from home, Aryn is in the process of establishing her own personalized horse and rider training service called Equine Avenue.  She prides herself on her mobility, being able to travel to various locations, meeting and visiting various clients and stables in the Los Angeles County area.  She has a diverse clientele including children and amateur riders.  She spends her time instructing, schooling and training ponies, young horses and seasoned horses as well. Dimitri, her beloved 20 year old retired jumper, has become a strong physical therapy mount for one of Aryn's adult amateur clients recuperating from major surgery last spring.  In 2007, Equine Avenue's clients look forward to dressage and hunter/jumper shows in Los Angeles and Orange Counties under the guidance of Aryn.

Aryn's mission is to provide a comprehensive, customized training, instruction and horsemanship program designed individually for each horse and its rider,  developing personal goals and plans for horses and rider depending on their skills, levels, desires and interests.  Equine Avenue is a comprehensive riding and training program developed to meet your riding needs and your horse's training and schooling needs.  Aryn realizes that we equestrians are all looking for something that we are comfortable doing and that each horse is different as is their rider.  Finding the right match and making it work is the task she takes most seriously.
